Dr Lalima Tiwari is a registered Oral Medicine Specialist who provides comprehensive care in all aspects of clinical oral medicine, including diagnoses and management of Oral Diseases, Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine.
She completed her three-year specialty training in oral medicine, with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Medicine) from the University of Western Australia. Her training comprised of clinical roles at the Oral Medicine Clinic, Oral Health Centre of Western Australia, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital’s Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Team, in addition to clinical placements at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Perth’s Children Hospital.
She is a Fellow of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Oral Medicine Stream and maintains membership with the Australian Dental Association. Dr Tiwari also has a part-time public appointment at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia.
Her research interests are broad, with multiple peer reviewed publications on topics ranging from oral oncology, epigenetics and orofacial pain. She has been awarded a Colgate Travel Award for her research on Optical Fluorescence Imaging in Oral Mucosal Lesions, which she presented as part of the 2019 Colgate Competition at the International Association for Dental Research Asia Pacific Region.
Dr Tiwari enjoys practising the full scope of oral medicine, with a strong focus on delivering treatment with compassion and empathy, ensuring her patient’s wellbeing is maintained at the highest level.
