Dr Arabelle Clayden graduated from the University of Queensland Dental School in 1992 with first class honours and a University Medal. She worked as a dentist in Brisbane and Sydney before specialising in Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine with a Masters degree from the University of Qld in 1997. This was followed by two fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, one in general practice and one in the specialist stream of Oral Medicine. Upon graduation as a specialist she gained overseas experience working at the Dublin Dental Hospital, Ireland. She was a Senior Dental Specialist for Qld Health for 16 years which included working in the Children’s Hospital and as a member of the multidisciplinary team for Head and Neck Cancer at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and has maintained a private Oral Medicine practice in Brisbane since 2006. She has been president of the Oral Medicine Society of Australia, member of the International Association of Dental Research, the European Association of Oral Medicine and has been on the Board of Studies for Oral Medicine for the RACDS. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association and is a Fellow of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia.
